Tim Orr
ML, SPA, WML, MPA, MIA, MIC (trained), BOS Provider, Advanced First Aider
I started hill walking and rock climbing at the age of fourteen, following in my father’s footsteps as a voluntary member of the Glen of Imaal mountain rescue team. By the age of sixteen I had my first Alpine season under my belt, some hand me down gear and a passionate hobby to last a lifetime.
Throughout the next twenty-five years I have been lucky enough to visit and explore the mountains of America, Europe the Middle East and Nepal. Of these mountaineering years, fifteen have being shared with a range of clients through employing my services and assistance to build their own mountaineering path.
Continuing my own journey, I currently maintain
a position as a full time professional mountaineering instructor through AMI - the Association of Mountaineering Instructors. I also hold approval through the Irish Mountain Training Board (BOS) to deliver a full range of nationally recognised qualifications in both hillwalking and climbing.
The last numbers of years have provided me opportunity to expand my mountaineering interests to include mountain landscape photography under Simon Watkinson’s Photo Training School in the Peak District and a deeper interest in the environment and meteorology through my continued studies with the Open University.
I hope that the next twenty-five years will continue to offer me many more diverse experiences through the loftiness of nature, and continue to allow me to share and pass on to others my passion for mountaineering.
Sinead Pollock
ML, WML, MIA, MIC (trained), BOS Provider, EMT First Aider, LNT Master Educator
Growing up around the coasts of Kinsale Cork, as a teenager I naturally found myself involved in sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. My early passion for the outdoors led me to formalise my learning through full time attendance on the outdoor education programme delivered by Kinsale OEC.
On successfully attaining a number of instructor qualifications, I was fortunate to be chosen to fill a trainee instructor post within Tiglin the then National Mountaineering and White-water centre. It was while in Tiglin that I discovered my love for the outdoors and leadership could be expanded into the Mountain environment.
The last ten years I have dedicated
to instructing and teaching others while also persuing my own love for all aspects of mountaineering throughout Europe, including both summer and winter climbing, trekking and skiing. Continuing to work full time in the outdoors I divide my work schedule between running an Adventure Sport Youth Project and then organising and delivering a full range of professional public mountaineering courses.
As a qualified Mountaineering Instructor and Winter Mountain Leader I am also approved by the Irish Mountain Training Board (BOS) to deliver a wide range of National recognised training and assessment schemes.
In recent years I have also been able to expand related interests to include; undergoing first aid training to Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician level, becoming a Leave no Trace Master Educator and an accredited practitioner for the Institute of Outdoor Learning.

Shoobs is our 4-month-old Dane puppy, who in time will become a 14 stone Great Dane. Shoobs enjoys forest walks and beach bounding and is a keen follower of the Leave No Trace principles. His fondness for nature is exhibited through his ongoing study of our gardens flora and fauna including an in-depth study of the effect of digging up shrubbery and drooling on the cat.
Both Tim and Sinead continue to work and associate with many other organisation and individuals involved in mountain training. In keeping connected with other mountain training providers and national organisation's, we are able to constantly develop and update our own skills as providers.
